MOTORCYCLIST MAP EVENT AND RIDE WAIVER AND RELEASE

Safety is the number one priority of Motorcyclist Map and their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, agents, and partners.  By participating in any group event or ride organized by Motorcyclist Map, LLC (hereinafter “Event” or “Ride”), I, the undersigned, agree to behave safely and defensively. Moreover, I agree to obey all federal, state, and local laws while participating in any such Event or Ride. Furthermore, I waive the right to all claims against Motorcyclist Map, LLC (as well as their officers or agents) as well as any owner or operator of any Event venue for any bodily injury, property damage, loss of income, or other harms or damages that may arise or occur during any such Event or Ride.

 

I hereby assume all risks of participating and/or volunteering in any Event or Ride organized by Motorcyclist Map, LLC. I acknowledge that I participate in any Event or Ride by my own volition and for my own benefit. Therefore, I agree to take responsibility for my own actions and inactions. This Waiver and Release shall also apply to my successors, heirs, and assigns.

 

DOT approved helmets are required by law to be used when riding in certain states, like North Carolina. Helmet use is a personal choice in others, like South Carolina. If a Ride ventures into a state where helmet use is optional and I choose not to wear a helmet, it is at my own risk. No one can ever require me to ride without a helmet or other protective gear, doing so is my choice and mine alone.

 

If I participate in a Ride as an operator of a motorcycle, then I certify the following: that I am duly licensed (or permitted) and competent to operate a motorcycle safely and responsibly; that I am a duly experienced rider, my motorcycle is in safe operational condition, and I have no known physical or mental impairments that may affect my safety or the safety of those around me; that during any Ride I will not operate my motorcycle under the influence of any impairing substance; and that I know I will be on public roads and highways and understand that I am the only person responsible for determining the correct speed and proper manner of operation of my motorcycle depending on the changing circumstances during any Ride.

 

Alternatively, if I am a passenger, then I certify that I am a passenger of someone who is licensed and who is competent to ride safely and responsibly and that I will act as a safe and responsible passenger.

 

I hereby release and hold harmless all organizations, organizers, officers, employees, volunteers, and establishments affiliated with any Ride or Event I participate in (specifically including Motorcyclist Map, their employees and agents, and any person or entity hosting an Event). I accept full responsibility for my own actions during any Ride or Event. This Waiver and Release does not preclude causes of action against a fellow rider or a third-party for causing me harm due to their own negligence, but shall prevent Motorcyclist Map (and their employees, officers, volunteers, agents, partners, as well as owners and operators of Event venues) from having any responsibility therefor.

 

This Waiver and Release is in force beginning on the date of acceptance and continues to apply not only for the specific Ride or Event for which it is signed (if any) but also for all Rides or Events organized by Motorcyclist Map that I choose to participate in.
